Favorite TV Shows & Books that Should be TV Shows

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme/feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is: Fall TV Freebie. I was originally just going to list my favorite TV shows, but then I realized that I don’t watch much TV and only have a few. I’m still going to list those, but I’m also going to do books that I think should be turned into TV shows.

 

Once Upon a Time

Once Upon a Time is one of my favorite TV shows. It’s basically just a bunch of fairy tale retellings mixed into one, and it’s SO COOL! I love watching this show, and I’m impatiently waiting for the next season. Can September 25th come sooner?

Dance Moms

I will admit that this show is such a guilty pleasure of mine. I started watching it a few years ago because I’m a dancer, and I totally got sucked in. Even though it’s so clearly fake, I still love it. Like I said, it’s a guilty pleasure, no matter how stupid it can be, I still love it.

Friends

How can anyone not love this show???? I started Friends just over a year ago, and I’ve been obsessed ever since. Sometimes when I’m not feeling so great, I’ll go binge watch Friends, and it makes me feel better every single time. Phoebe and Joey will always be my favorites though. <3

Gilmore Girls

I’m only on season three so no spoilers, at least none past halfway through season three otherwise I will hunt you down. Okay, I would not do that, but you get the point. I’m loving this show so much right now though, and I totally get all the hype.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt 

I love this show. It’s about Kimmy Schmidt who has just been rescued from an underground bunker after about 15 years as she rediscovers the world and New York City. This was recommended to my mom, and then the two of us binge watched season 1 and 2 together in like three days.

Modern Family

Modern Family is so funny, I love it. For those of you who do not already know (seriously, you need to watch this how) it’s about an extended family (three families in all) and just tells their lives. It’s absolutely hilarious, but at the same time it’s such a sweet show. This is one of those shows that I’m always impatiently waiting for new episodes to show up on our recorded shows (I’m never able to watch it when it airs because I’m too busy).

So, those are my four favorite shows, even though two of them have ended. I will watch just regular TV shows, but these are the four that I absolutely love, and am counting down the days to (not for Friends though. Gilmore Girls has that revival coming up soon though!).

Tiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton

This series would make such a good TV show. It’s so full of drama, it would be like reality TV, but it’s not. Seriously, I’m begging someone to turn this into a TV show because I think it would be so good.

The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye

For some reason, I can totally just picture this in my head as a TV show. I think the slow pacing would work really well if the show was done right. Does anyone else just picture this as a TV show?

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

I realized right after putting this together that Throne of glass has already been optioned for TV rights! I think this series would make a great show, especially if it was done right.

Legend by Marie Lu

I know, I know, Legend is already being turned into a movie. However, we haven’t heard any news about it in so long, so I’m adding it to the list just because I think this series could really work on TV.

The Selection by Kiera Cass

Like Dance Moms, the Selection is another guilty pleasure of mine. I actually think it would make a pretty good TV show, despite it currently being turned into a movie. *sigh* I just think this is one of those things that would make a way better show than a movie.
